Meet the Providers

Jacob Dean, MD

Chief Medical Officer

Dr. Dean is a board certified family physician who has lived in Ohio his entire life.  Dr. Dean received his Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from Wright State University & subsequently graduated from University of Cincinnati College of Medicine.  Dr. Dean established his family practice in 2003.  Dr. Dean continued to expand his skills by completing acupuncture training through the Academy of Pain Research in California.  Dr. Dean now practices neuro-acupuncture. Dr. Dean extended his practice in 2016 to include Occupational Medicine and is now certified to perform DOT physicals and is Citran’s Medical Review Officer.

Casey Young, MPAS, PA-C

Orthopedic & Injury Specialist

Casey utilizes his expertise in injury care from his 5 years in trauma surgery and 9+ years in orthopedic surgery for injured workers. Casey works with injured workers and employers to return employees back to work, as safely and as soon as possible. Casey graduated from Kettering College of Medical Arts the University of Nebraska. Casey has been a volunteer paramedic for 18 years. For the past 15 years Casey has been a volunteer for the Arnold Sports Festival Medical Team where he is a Site Medical Director. Casey is vice president of Springfield Thunder Soccer Club and volunteers at his local church. Casey lives in Springfield with his wife and two daughters.

Liz Ater, MPAP, PA-C

Certified Physician Assistant

Liz joins our team with a Master’s of Physician Assistant from the University of Dayton. She began her college career at Wright State University where she received her Bachelor of Science degree in Biological Sciences with emphasis in Exercise Biology. She is also a certified DOT Medical Examiner through the FMSCA National Registry and certified provider for the Ohio BWC.

Before working with acute injuries in an urgent care setting, Liz assisted with a wide array of orthopedic surgeries at a busy practice in Dayton.

Her background in sports medicine and experience in orthopedics and occupational health will be valuable traits when it comes to treating and screening our indus- trial athletes. Optimizing her strength in performing pro- cedures such as: sutures, splinting and wound care.

Liz’s strong critical thinking skills under pressure will make her a great team lead in her provider role at Citran to evaluate patient needs, prioritize treatment and patient flow in a high intensity environment.

You can find Liz spending time with her husband and four kids on the weekends playing board games, cooking, camping, boating or exploring different places. She’s also an avid volunteer in many community outreach programs.
